Nowadays our privacy and security mean a lot, more and more we face big governments taking away our privacy and spying on us. More and more we see our security diminishing, our freedom shattered to little bits.

And, even though some big corporation might not want to spy or oppress us, governments have power over them, wherever you go on Planet Earth, there is a ruler, a big guy, a corporation, a government. That's why it doesn't matter where you live, you need to improve your security and privacy locally.

Open-Source software is, in my opinion, the best way to improve said privacy. It might have been hard in the past, we had to sacrifice easiness to use for open-source software, but not anymore. The open-source community grew beyond our wildest imagination, especially because of Crypto.

With that growth came much new software, products that we can use easily, software that allows improved privacy, improved efficiency, improved security, improved...improved...improved...Brave Browser is just like that.

Brave Browser

Brave Browser, based on Chromium, is a free Open Source Browser created by Brendan Eich, the same guy that developed Mozzila, JavaScript, etc...

Brave focus on improving security, privacy, fighting malware, fighting tracking, they don't store your data, the data is stored locally until you delete it, so they won't ever sell it to the highest bidder like google and facebook do.

Brave's security and privacy option allow for different levels of protection, by changing the shield options you can increase or decrease your privacy and security. Not only this but, while on other browsers you have to install multiple addons to increase your privacy and security, brave's mission is to implement each one of those addons from the start! No more add-ons and plugins that you have to configure, Brave does it all!

Brave is also one of the fastest Browsers I've been using, going from Chrome to Brave is like going from Internet Explorer to Chrome, you can taste and feel the speed!

Brave allows the sync of various devices via encryption, which means all your bookmarks and settings will never be available for anyone else unless they have the keys to decrypt it! Which they don't because you do!

Brave also upgrades to HTPPS whenever possible, allowing for encrypted and secure browsing, while many of the other browsers would just leave it insecure.

But Brave is more than this...

Attention, the one thing that ad companies have been mining from us for decades without giving us, the attention-owners, anything back... Brave changes this whole paradigma with BAT!

BAT

While Brave is only a browser, it comes from the start with an ERC-20 wallet that supports BAT, a crypto wallet, BAT is intended to reward Brave Users that view specific ads, a portion goes for content creators a portion goes for the ad viewers. Finally, getting rewarded for my attention!

It also allows an auto-contribute option with recurring payments to specific content creators. So, you can view ads, be rewarded, and reward the content creators after with even more BAT!

This attention rewarding function still isn't available worldwide, but it's moving fast, and the number of Brave Users is increasing just as fast! It isn't available in Portugal, but it will soon be, do you know why I know this? The CEO, the creator of JavaScript, the man responsible for Mozilla replied to a discussion I was having on Twitter! That's right, the team is very open and friendly!

There are more functions of the Brave Browser, like tipping content creators with BAT, I was already tipped on Twitter by a user and got 0.95 BAT waiting to be dropped on my wallet the next payout! Amazing! Someone, in this vast vast world, decided that my content was worth 0.9 BAT and with a single click he was able to send me 0.9 BAT!

This is adoption, this is what will drive adoption! New ways to reward people for stuff that they were never rewarded before, new ways to remove intermediaries, money moving around faster than ever... It will be a revolution!

Now, I must say, they've had a hard time with this whole idea, many people are angry at them because this might diminish the returns of some companies while improving the return of content creators, this might remove the power from companies like Youtube that only reward those they want, and bring the power back to the content creator and to the viewer... It's going to be an uphill battle, but they have the whole Crypto Community and Open-Source community backing them up. There is strength in numbers!
