today I will review a decentralized online based storage project, Files.fm.
what is Files.fm?
The Files.fm Library is a free to use hybrid-decentralized data library, built and maintained through the collective efforts of the community. FFL aims to provide space and marketplace for anyone to upload their files for future preservation, and by adding correct metatags any file in the database can be easily found and accessed.

I think this project will give big impact on crypto in the future, because it can be seen from the difference, centralized based storage usually has a heavy burden or they often experience downtime when accessing too much, of course this is very annoying for people who really need quick access without interruption when they need it.
while the decentralized platform ensures the speed of downloading a file, and also ensures the security / comfort of the file.Users can watch videos directly without having to download them first.
FFM tokens are needed to be used directly between users as a payment tool so that it can facilitate enormous banking costs.

The solution offered by Files.fm is eliminating the following losses. Removing limited platform capabilities we see a creation of legal and free to use digital file library that provides the service for society where people can conveniently store, access, search and share useful content online with copyrights done right. Currently there is no large (capable of storing hundreds of petabytes) and free storage platform with specialized file search, sufficiently useful
content and user-friendly interface. Also currently existing illegal file sharing networks, while widely .

FFL will combine the existing digital library creation principles with new hybrid semi-decentralized technology, using P2P fog network of web browsers in order to reduce the costs and limitations of centralized digital libraries. FFL will focus heavily on creating and maintaining a community of volunteers, who would upload, tag and oversee useful files and who in return would be rewarded with FFM tokens. Another factor for choosing P2P networks was due to the already large amount of people that are using them – it has been estimated that in 2017 almost 1% of worldwide Internet users engaged in P2P file sharing per day.

Users will be able upload files to FFL platform. Before publishing files on the Library, other community members will be able to vote whether the content is useful and acceptable. FFL or community will perform other content control: security checks, e.g., antivirus and illegal content scanning with human and AI tools. If the file doesn’t pass the control, it is immediately removed and the user is punished with FFM token penalty withdrawal or is banned from the FFL system, if the offence is repeated multiple times. Copyright scanning is performed as well. Afterwards FFL performs content indexing: metadata reading and content recognition with AI tools. The indexed data is saved in the FFL’s file indexing database for later use in the content search.
When the file is scanned and indexed FFL routes and sends the file to the P2P network’s desktop clients for storing and later serving it to other users. The file is also saved on the Files.fm main storage network for seed and backup purposes. Before or after file upload user can choose to add the file’s meta information for content sorting or
add price to the file if it is intended for selling.

HOW it work :
The main actions that can be done in the FFL system by users are adding, searching, using, sorting,
selling content and claiming copyright, as well investing their resources in the P2P network.Users can use the FFL platform via any modern internet browser and they will become instant fog edge nodes
