Crypto currencies have opened new avenues for new many centralized and decentralized video platforms out there. In this list we going to look into them and what do they offer and their features. If you are searching for a Crypto Multicoin wallets to hold these tokens & coins read my other article.

DTube

Probably the most promising alternative to YouTube in my opinion is DTube. Because it has a strong model behind it that can sustain itself to certain degree at least. DTube is part of the Steem system, which contains blogs and other stuff that allow publishers to get Crypto Currency known as Steem from their posts and people are able to trade it around or give it to other users.

Dlive.io

Another platform based on steem, which is lot more orientated on live streaming that D.Tube is and also i would argue its more based on gaming type of content and might have different audience from D.Tube so its advised to upload in both platforms. Dlive in many ways is the superior platform of the two based on my own experiences, because it uploads lot faster and its less glitch (Also overlay and everything is just better looking)

Viuly

If you are looking for centralized video platform fueled by Ethereum token and live streaming service you might want to give Viuly a chance. It seems to have a huge Russian audience on the platform, but there is bunch of English and other content lying around there as well.

So minds does function lot more as a social media platform than it does a video platform. It's very freedom of speech orientated place and it has multiple features one is the video platform that doesn't have that many features yet, but they are developing it. You gain crypto from participation and engagement over your postings and donations. Terms of its size its pretty big platform even though video side of it is not main thing.

So when it comes to distributing tokens or crypto via video platforms there are two methods one is by watch time and one is via donations/referral systems. However Bit Tube does pay both viewers and uploaders based on how much they watch that stuff on the platform, which is really really good system. Also you can upload all videos from YouTube directly to Bit Tube.

Still in beta and not open for all in public (you can sign-up for beta invite). There are interesting aspects of this video platform such as you can view ads separately from user videos to get Flixx tokens. So ads are not associated with channels themselves, which might bring huge amount of advertisers in. There are some beta clips about it on YouTube and it looks very promising so far.

LBRY is a free, open, and community-run digital marketplace, You own your data. You control the network. Indeed, you are the network. So from the tagline you can understand its fundamentally very different video platform since you download the client to your PC. I'm not best person to explain this so you better look into videos about legalities and how this platform functions.

Another crypto based video platform which uses ETC20 Token. However you have to pay for the uploads so its more aimed towards perhaps Crypto Business type of channels. The player seems alright but i wouldn't consider it anything truly outstanding. I'm not sure how i feel about the business model for long run.

So TaTaTu is not a self-publishing video platform its a place where you can watch movies, sports, esports, TV-shows and Celebrity content in exchange for getting paid in TaTaTu Tokens.
