Up to $8 million has been lost overall in Solana, according to security companies.
Approximately 8,000 user accounts were drained as a result of a recent crypto wallet attack that targeted Android and iOS users with connected wallets containing the cryptocurrency Solana, according to reports from a number of security companies.
Since Solana has experienced a growth pattern resembling a hockey stick over the past couple of years, it has caught the attention of cryptocurrency investors. However, hackers hoping to make an even faster profit will take notice. Security companies estimate that over the past three days, the accounts of these users have had between $6 and $8 million in Solana drained from them.
According to their analysis, the Solana team only found addresses that "were at one point created, imported, or utilised in Slope mobile wallet programmes" were the target of the attack. However, it is evident that the private key details or seed phrases that protected these accounts were "inadvertently communicated to an application monitoring provider." They do not yet have an explanation for how the exploit occurred.
