Market Downturn Appears to be Finished

2018 has been a volatile year so far for the cryptocurrency market. Led by Bitcoin hitting $19,000 US and then subsequently falling to $6,000 US and now recovering to $8,000 US the volatility has been harsh. Many altcoins priced in bitcoin have experienced even greater degrees of volatility. With so much drama already seen in the first two months of the year it makes me wonder what crypto investors can expect in the remaining 10 months of 2018 because what we have seen already is enough for one year. I suspect there will be some dramatic surprises, good and bad, but it will be exciting nonetheless.

Well it seems this recent correction is over as many coins have seen the prices of their coins stabilized and have begun appreciating. The global stock markets are also going through a correction and though the market volatility there is continuing I think because volatility has calmed down in cryptocurrency markets primarily because the correction started earlier in cryptocurrency markets that we have seen this correction played out. It's usually at these times after a correction has occurred and markets are stable and rising again that make the best buying opportunities. The reasons are obvious, we have seen the worst of the downturn and prices are still low having gone down signficianctly because of the correction. So if you are interested in investing in cryptocurrencies or adding to one's portfolio this likely is a good time to do so. I would suggest investing a portion now and a portion in a weeks time just in case we are wrong in thinking that the worst of the downturn is over.
