Swarm Fund‏ @TheSwarmFund
Announcement: Swarm Masternodes: Be a part of core infrastructure for the future of investing while earning significant rewards. #masternodes #decentralization $SWM

      chris eberle‏ @SVginger
The future of investing requires new infrastructure @TheSwarmFund we believe no one organization can build and operate this infrastructure. It’s too big a task, and too crucial to be centralized. Today we announce Swarm Masternodes with unprecedented rewards & access

DAOstack‏ @daostack
The Medical DAO, built with #DAOstack, aims to be “the first #Decentralized Autonomous Organization using holographic consensus to take advantage of the collective intelligence of doctors to self-organize." http://bit.ly/2Mbkq9p

Bitrates‏ @BitratesNews
DAOstack is doing for #blockchains what @WordPress did for the web. @daostack's decentralized governance lets collectives self-organize around shared goals & values easily and efficiently. 3rd part coming soon, follow us for updates

Aragon‏ @AragonProject
The recent changes on @Medium have forced us to pursue other platforms and Aragon is taking action against censorship by moving away from Medium to @TryGhost. Today we are announcing two new blogs, one for @AragonProject and one for @AragonOneTeam.
https://blog.aragon.org/aragon-against-censorship-goodbye-medium-hello-ghost/

Vitalik Non-giver of Ether‏ @VitalikButerin
I'm worried about the "token curated registry" hype. I see a lot of mechanisms that just boil down to "token holders vote", but for well known reasons (eg. see https://vitalik.ca/general/2018/03/28/plutocracy.html … ) there are deep flaws in that model. The specifics of your incentive mechanism matter!

      Martin Köppelmann‏ @koeppelmann
This is why at @gnosisPM and LevelK are working on TCRs that are using #futarchy instead of voting. https://github.com/levelkdev/fcr-project … And yes - we are looking for teams that want to try it.

Gnosis‏ @gnosisPM
Less than two weeks left until the submission deadline of the Token Diligence category of #GnosisX ends... Not done with your #dApp yet? Don't panic, register for your private AMA https://gnosis1.typeform.com/to/YISw6W and we will help you finish your #dApp!

Amer Ameen‏ @amer__ameen
Native interoperability on #Ethereum is allowing integrations that would otherwise be so difficult! Dai by @MakerDAO is now available to trade on @TheOceanTrade relayer which is built using the @0xProject protocol. Wow! This is just the beginning! #crypto https://buff.ly/2vrX99I

$EOS just shit the bed

      Zephyr‏ @Crypto_Zephyr
Still not as bad as $WAN lol

      Lil Uzi Vertcoin‏ @LilUziVertcoin
look how much billions EOS lost from its market cap 4 months ago to now

Luke Martin‏ @VentureCoinist
$ETH and alts decoupling a few weeks ago was a change in the dynamic that we've had since Feb of alts acting as leveraged Bitcoin positions: Bitcoin up = alt up vs btc Bitcoin down = alt down vs btc That was fine to start August. Alts gained as $btc dropped

What I feared would happen 2 days ago: If $btc was to break a critical level like 6800 -> alts wouldn't be able to stay decoupled. They would begin to fall vs Bitcoin again. (https://twitter.com/VentureCoinist/status/1026579634975068161 … ) Majors are showing that today, once again in tandem with bitcoin

The @CoinistBot was coming off its worse trade this morning having to close a $XRP long, and flip short...now it can make some of that back. It looks like flipping short on all those was the right play.

Focus on the macro - alts generally all move together. They get cheap and expensive together. They gain and lose momentum together. If you have the right direction/bias top-down, you can make a better micro decision.

not a call or I told you so...just an observation of macro that I'm updating for alts/btc as we progress

Mitoshi Kaku‏ @CryptoSays
This feels like a good area to open a long position on $BTC. Closely watching the small timeframes. Nice retest of the resistance. Ichimoku signals looking good.

Mitoshi Kaku‏ @CryptoSays
$ETH (ETHUSD 1W/1D). The chart is pretty obvious right now. Ichimoku is as bearish as you can get. I don't think we are going to break $300 right now, I'd considering a few buys at $340-$300. Strong Hidden Bull Div, might bounce in the next couple days.

Bitcoin-Fund-Manager.com Blockchain Cryptocurrency‏ @OTC_Bitcoin
Quick tip. If you want a low risk high reward coin, buy $bnb.

      Zerp Donuts‏ @theCryptoDonut
It’s been stable AF compared to other top 100 coins. Been saying this all along.

David Gokhshtein‏ @davidgokhshtein
I said it months back, I want the bullsh*t #cryptos to disappear. I want the real projects like $ZIL, $POE, $TRX, $DGB, $ADA to succeed.

      Mark McSweeney‏ @mixu82mcs
Take it you've given up on XVG used to speak about them all time but I guess there was a lot of hype with XVG back then

      David Gokhshtein‏ @davidgokhshtein
Nope. Still believe in $XVG. Next bull run comes around, and it’ll go up.

David Gokhshtein‏ @davidgokhshtein
I got more $GVT because not only do I believe in the team and the real use concept, but the price.

still retired YORK780‏ @YORKyor780
$LTC $4 and $ZEC $40 is still in play fellas.

      Crypto Whisperer‏ @AiteCoin
I’m personally seeing a market reset where some small caps that do things better at a cheaper price are going to be more appealing like DigiByte. Wait and watch for the flip, buy in before it’s too late. Not just DigiByte but a few like it also.

Jackson Palmer‏ @ummjackson
Ripple (sorry, XRP) is processing less payments per day than it was in 2016.

Cheds Trading [Cancer Fighter]‏ @BigCheds
$BTC #Bitcoin almost definitely will test $5755

Pablo Lujan
I would monitor Etherium charts for the coming days/weeks because it usually leads alts. And that chart right now is looking like it wants to collapse in the next few weeks. Hoping that support at 350 to 330 ish holds. If not. Reeeee.

Bruce Hunter
Pardon my not knowing the answer to this question. I was wondering if someone could explain how it is possible to drop every crypto currency at the same time? It seems to me like an exchange or something would have to be involved in the dump. I mean how would an individual or group "whales" be able to effect every single coin? That means they would have to own alot of every single crypto. Any help with understanding this would be appreciated.

      Jordan Mariano
They’re all priced in btc not usd

      Austin Mackey
The value of a sat drops with btc. The alts value are all derived from sat value.

Andrew Pannozo
Tech nerds! Need a little comfort talk about vpn. As most of you know the US can't get access to certain exchanges. Exchanges that have options a trader might want to use. If I understand the risk correctly there's a chance your account could get frozen if caught. Has this been known to happen? And then there's the whole residence address thing. What are some options to keep it safe/er and how do you minimize exposure? Obviously I just posted it so I might trigger being on a watch list now but I can live with that.

Ash Roulston
It depends on your trading value, the more value you have, the higher scrutiny you come under.
Many with higher value choose to trade as an institutional trader with a foreign domiciled corp. Often, you have a representative with a mailing address in that area for a set fee per year and use a VPN with that area as your location.
Those that solely depend on VPN are a bit riskier, but with a low value it could make it not worth the cost and hassle of setting up a foreign corp.
You don't need a tech nerd, most tech nerds think a VPN is adequate.

Daryl Yourk
If you're going through the trouble of setting up a VPN, you might as well set up a sandbox to remote into. You could even do an Azure or AWS virtual machine, might come with VPN tunneling. That way, you're technically accessing the exchanges from within the US (via remote terminal)

       Matt Dittman
Tinfoil hat warning. If you hold over $10k of assets in any given foreign exchange (crypto exchange, bank account, whatever, known as FBAR) at any point in time (a brief spike takes you up to $10,001 for a minute, for example) you MUST fill out a Form 8938. If you look into the penalties if they catch you not filling out this form, it's NOT something you want to deal with. Very severe penalties.

That said, I had to fill one out for my Bitfinex account last year. Required info is a login name, email address, or other account identifier. So... guess what. Now the Gov knows that I have an account there, and which one it is. What happens if I leave my money in Bitfinex and the US gov sends them an inquiry about my account, along with my signed form saying that, yes I'm a US citizen, and yes, this is my account?

A good way to have your money frozen in an foreign account where you have little recourse, IMO.

Anyone thinking of FUD panic selling just relax & HODL! I’ve seen this time and time again and in my humble opinion we are caught in a temporary bear trap as indicated by RSI revealing overbought market fatigue & whales selling the news (#Bakkt) after buying the rumor on 8/3-8/5.

We should (IMO) expect a bounce/correction —> reversal; parabolic surge as we transition from Q3 to Q4. Keep an eye out for inverted head & shoulders as that should be your entry point if you’re tethered out already.

Market psychology underlies every technical indicator. So, a good understanding of crowd behavior is critical. Look at trends, trends, trends using moving averages.

Edmond Schwab Jr.
Does anybody have any insight as to what might be going on why after going up to 8,000 over the last few weeks that Bitcoin is down back in the 6000 range??

I don't mind buying on the dip or when it's down in hopes of it moving back up substantially, but just trying to figure out what the devil's going on, since sometimes it seems like outside Market forces have a bearing on it and sometimes they don't....

Any insight appreciated

      Colt Spencer
The SEC postponed the ETF decision. Pretty obvious that this news caused people to sell.

Zachary Dash
What are some projects you love the fundamentals of but dislike from a token economics perspective?

My shortlist: Nano (NANO) and Stellar (XLM)

Stellar was one of the first projects I fell in love with. Both from the philanthropic mission of the company, but also the amount of big partnerships they were able to build in a short amount of time.

When I first started on my cryptocurrency journey, I made the common mistake of looking at price and total supply instead of total market cap as a gauge of potential. While the total supply of +100B no longer bothers me, the current circulating supply at (18% of total) and process for how they intend to distribute the Lumens does.

To Stellar's credit, they did put in some counter-inflation mechanisms to occur as the remaining 80B tokens are released. New lumens are added to the network at the rate of 1% each year. Each week, the protocol distributes these lumens to any account that gets over .05% of the “votes” from other accounts in the network.

The problem I have is how you attain these 'extra' Lumens. In addition to taking your tokens out of exchanges and into your wallet, you must join an inflation pool which may charge you for the services. (e.g. 10% of any rewards earned). Not only does this defeat the purpose of keeping down inflation, but also centralizes the coins.

Although some of the public and current coin holders may be aware of this, I believe most of the public will not be and lose much of their Lumen value.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, Nano (previously Raiblocks) has already distributed 100% of their tokens. From an investors perspective, this adds a lot of comfort in knowing your portion won't be diluted and there is zero possibility of inflation.

While Nano was one of the quickest projects to grow during the bull run (reaching $30+), it has also been one of the quickest to drop (now at $1.33). In my opinion, I believe this is largely due to how the tokens were originally distributed. There was no ICO. There was no monetary value to each of the coins in the beginning. Each token was given away through a free faucet campaign. Users only had to enter in a captcha for a reward. Many times giving out 17,000 XRB at a time. For this reason, the Nano "Whales" have less incentive to hold on, as they put no upfront investment (but time) on earning their assets.

I do have an optimistic mindset, that when Nano changes hands from those who attained their tokens free to those who invested in the tech because they believed in it, there is good upside. I just want no part in timing the rock bottom.
Would love to hear your thoughts. Do you agree/disagree with the assessments above? Did I get anything wrong? Go easy, I am human. Are there any projects you love but aren't as confident about the token economics?

      Robert Brouwers
Absolutely Nano, loved the project from the beginning but don't think there is a bright future for Nano in the long run.

      Zachary Dash
Do you share the same reasoning or an alternative one?

Another thing nano has going against them is the Quantity theory of money. In this theory, nanos high velocity (ability to be passed around so quickly), lowers its price value over time.

      Robert Brouwers
I agree with your conclusion about Nano. From my point of view Nano is lacking widespread adoption and there are other competitors offering low- or no-fee transfers.

      Ahmad Sleiman Romero
Any project that involves storage on the blockchain, hopefully speeds increase, with storage speeds increasing we could potentially get (in the future) a competitor for youtube that actually generates revenue due to the almost non existent server costs, (oyster). Steemit tried to do it directly with Dtube but it's clear there there's so many issues that haven't been resolved yet, slow speeds and takes really long to get an account for those reasons.

Analysis of "correction" by an Independent Analyst
by LacklustreBeltBuckle

While there is a ruckus building surrounding the recent drop in our beloved Dash, and rightfully so, how we as a community are handling it will only exacerbate the effects of the market-wide drop.

I specialize in sentiment analysis, digital convergence, and market valuation. I've developed models for the majority of coins throughout the cryptosphere. What we're looking at with Dash, is, at its core, a reflection of a correction, in addition to fears regarding possible convergence and value loss. Naturally, this brings us to overall sentiment.

While it is easy to rock the boat and call for change amidst a break like this, a community of 22k, not to mention those who actively are mno's, has the potential to cause serious changes in valuation. While I'm well aware that this sub is likely composed of a mix of optimists and pessimists, recent events make serious calls to behave as the former.

As for the current MNOs, our efforts need to be focused on outward projects, and maintaining a stronger couple to both Bitcoin and Monero. We're the furthest we've been from Monero in months, and continually fluctuate negatively. At the moment, we're observing a 0.2tr decouple from Monero, and luckily it's been steady for the past month; however, a further decouple could spell doom, just as a break from Bitcoin could spell the beginnings of a convergence trend where we are the losers. This is a no-win situation unless our focuses change as a community.

AgroCognitive Venezuela - Crowfunding campaign
by jesccs

May you know, AgroCognitive is at the analytics engine (machine learning) training stage in sugar cane plantations (Portuguesa State, VENEZUELA). Sugar cane grow fast and we must visit and monitor every 15 days until the end of the harvest (it consist of taking pictures by drone flying and data collection with agronomists). Unfortunately our project is unfunded, however we have a very strong commitment to the farming communities that have been collaborating with this project and the Dash community that has trusted us. We can not ask nature to freeze and wait for us until raise funds enough while we stop data collection process, if we do that, AgroCognitive will lose current training stage data and has to wait 6-8 months until the start of the new plantation.

We understand treasury funds are stretched, DCG need funds for more cycles and MNOs have to manage a lot of priorities, that is why we're not going to post new proposal in dashcentral (until treasury have available funds again), all our development activities are stopped (due to unfunded situation) and we only execute the analytical engine training job.

Huge CDP liquidation of 8298 Eth
by matthewk84

CDP 150 just liquidated with over 8000 ETH in the CDP.
How will this affect the Maker system?
Is the the largest liquidation so far?

      HodlDwon
Nope. One that was worth $12MM got liquidated in January/February. The Keepers will likely buy it up.

      Matthewk84
Who benefits from liquidations? The user who buys at a 3% discount obviously but do we all benefit slightly?

      HodlDwon
PETH holders, very, very slightly. But PETH will go away in the multi collateral version and MKR holders will benefit directly.

      Rune4444
Liquidation penalties will also be waaaay lower in MCD. 1% or less I think is most likely, which is much better compared to the current 13%. And they will be auctions instead of direct trading according to a price feed.

So far I think crypto crashes tend to benefit Maker. Even though MKR loses absolute value, it often loses less than other assets and increases its relative ranking (today just become top 29 by market cap).

The crashes also increase trading volume for Dai (which today was above 7 million, which i think is the highest ever), and serve as a reminder for why stablecoins are important for the blockchain space to go any further.

Finally there is really very little chance that this crash can trigger a black swan event in the system and threaten to impact the stability of Dai. It is almost unthinkable when Maker is still so small that even if the entire collateral pool was liquidated at once it would still be a drop in the ocean of ETH liquidity.

Is there an opportunity for entrepreneurs to build CDP origination services on top of MakerDAO?
by etcwalletsnotworking

I'm thinking of building a CDP origination service on top of MakerDAO? Is that a crazy idea? It would kind of be like building a bank with MakerDAO as the backend

      Rune4444
There are already several projects doing that, and it's a great idea because you only have to worry about marketing, customer support and front end security. A good example is EasyCDP.com

The Maker Foundation are planning some steps that will make it easier for this kind of service to be monetized in the future to encourage more entrepreneurs to set up business model built on top of the CDP backend.

Staking EOS and value of CPU and NET
by Llb3rty

When I stake my EOS I see I have plenty of CPU and NET to use. How do I sell or rent them?
In summary, how do I get some value from my staked EOS?

      RiverKingfisher
Well, until there is demand, you probably won’t get much value.

Chintai launches 8/21, you will be able to use the Dapp to lease.
https://medium.com/@davidkalin44/chintai-community-update-2-august-2018-chintai-has-arrived-d6028711459c?source=linkShare-449483a17d1b-1533739351

Then there is the REX which will do something similar on a pooled basis and allow you to get an additional share is system wide fees. Not sure when it will be available.

Did EOS CPU staking cost just go up?
by moeseth

I have 1 EOS staked and haven't used once in two days. However, it didn't allow me to do one transaction today after two days with no activity.

It takes 3 days to fully recover your cpu however 1 EOS is very low to be staked I would suggest a minimum of 5 eos staked to cpu. But that is me being over cautious.

EOS is dumping. (YAWN)
by Mr-Maxwell

Look. everything is dumping and unless you have a crystal ball to know when to jump in and jump out then you best just hold.

EOS & Stellar in my opinion are the best coins to hold right now, and I am not selling. Both of these tokens are really making progress, are technically superior, and have the potential to earn passive income for holders.

I get inflation payments every week from Stellar, and will soon thanks to Dan's initiatives be getting staking rewards on my EOS. Additionally, there continues to be airdrops to be collected that also add to the value, and new dApps are being developed all the time.

World class partnerships, world class technology, and almost instantaneous low free transactions. What is not to like?

EOS is not a coin to lose faith in this early into the game. The biggest price surges are yet to come.

EOS passive income. Renting tokens vs staking EOS to earn commodity assets like RAM?

EOS passive income. Renting tokens vs staking EOS to earn commodity assets like RAM?
Also, are any of these options are available right now? Or haven't been released? Thanks

      izhikevich
Currently it's not possible to rent tokens. Staking tokens is possible but it won't get you anything other than network bandwidth and CPU. So no passive income as of yet.

EDNA partners up with Lynx to provide free bonus-airdrop for all EOS Lynx Wallet users.
Robin Kakou

WorkCoin yesterday announced the integration of multi-coin in their EOS Lynx wallet. Lynx is rapidly becoming the ultimate wallet on the eos.io blockchain for a good reason: It is the only app where users can instantly create EOS accounts, the user’s interface is so simple that even a 5-year-old could use it and last but not least, transactions are lightning fast (less than 1 seconds) and completely free.

So what is multi-coin? The concept is fairly simple, this wallet will now support and enable users to send and receive different coins and tokens available on the EOS network.

The most exciting news is that every Lynx user will receive a small number of coins for FREE. EDNA will be the first token freely distributed on Lynx.

At Metanode we are building the world’s first legally compliant masternode hosting and monitoring platform. A platform that simplifies and automates the technical knowledge and constant monitoring required for masternodes. A platform that allows individuals to pool their capital with others to unlock masternode rewards. A platform that will financially empower users by opening up proof of stake rewards to everyone.

As a Metanode user, you will be able to instantly launch and deploy the masternode of your choice with a single click. When you deploy your masternode, our automated system and advanced monitoring features will ensure that your masternode is constantly connected to the network and receiving rewards. After that, sit back and enjoy your passive income. With a platform this easy, your most difficult choice will be what to do with your masternode rewards.
