INTRODUCTION

The healthcare sector like other vital sector is experiencing several challenges that affects its' effectiveness in delivering its' major duties to humanity. Due to these challenges, a lot of lives have been lost, security breaches has been recorded, and billions of dollars has been lost in form of repetitive tests, cost of acquiring medical data from previous health institution and logistics . Although there have been countless attempts and efforts made by medical practitioners, government agencies and cooperate bodies to solve the problem in this sector but it has been very difficult and only infinitesimal improvement has been recorded so far.
No doubt it has been discovered that liberating and analyzing the health record system kept by large medical organization is the solution but no holistic approach toward this problem has been fruitful.
This therefore calls for a dramatic shift in the current system.

THE NEED FOR A BETTER MEDICAL ECOSYSTEM

The following major problems are the primary reasons a revamp is needed in the healthcare sector, a revamp that can only be ushered in through blockchain technology. They are:

1. Reliability of Patients' Data
2. Security of Patients' data
3. Centralization of medical database
4. Mobility of data
5. Confidentiality of personal Information
6. Fragmentation of test results and medical report.

These challenges are the major reasons valuable healthcare is unattainable with healthcare data bring restrained and siloed preventing an in-depth understanding of the patient medical status.

THE SOLUTION : MEDIBLOC

Medibloc is an open source healthcare data platform built on the blockchain to provide an ideal personal health record (PHR) that brings reliable and transparent dataset for medical records.
This record is a completely integrated indexed history of all patients medical information with an high level of security and privacy. This will afford the patients the privilege of accessing and managing their personal medical records based on individual needs, setting grounds for exercising ownership and full control over personal medical records.
Medibloc also allows developers to use the open-source API and SDK to create top-notch services using the Medibloc platform.

MEDIBLOC vs TRADITIONAL SYSTEM

Medibloc team brings medical expertise to disrupt the way in which electronic medium data is managed in the healthcare industry through decentralization against the traditional system founded on centralization of medical data .

Medibloc team have designed an interoperable healthcare data system that is both secured and transparent which empowers patients to own and gather their own health data against the traditional system which operates a rigid data system susceptible to insecurity and breach of privacy laws denying patients the right to control their personal data.
