Best Altcoin to Invest In?
Hi Guys,
so I've been playing around with cryptocurrency for a while now, mostly Bitcoin but a few Altcoins as well (Litecoin, Darkcoin/Dash, and Steem of course...)
People here seem extremely knowledgeable, and I was wondering what Altcoins are people here investing in? What Altcoins would you guys recommend?
(And don't worry, I'm already sold on Steem, no need to convince me!)

I prefer to hand curate my ALTcoins investments, as i can research them myself. Bitcointalk.com is great for ICO/Crowdsales. Watch out for the trolls though!

I wouldn't touch litecoin to be honest. What has it done in the 4 years its been alive except for being mined?
I literally can't tell you anything else about it, I don't understand what it is doing in the top 5 except that it was early, but then again you could say the same thing about bitcoin. Doesn't deserve first place anymore.
I mostly hold Dash, but I'm very interested in the progress of "beyond currency"-applications of blockchains, that's why I delved into Factom and Maidsafe as well. I hope the latter soon becomes more than vaporware. The fundamental ideas of both these projects convinced me (Ethereum still needs to settle its actual place in the world and declare what it wants to be imo, hype doesn't convince me, even though I made some profits with it). Of course this isn't investment advice, because in any case: Due diligence is key.
I've been collecting some EXP and VRC mostly lately
VRC looks really interesting! I'll look into it.

I like/own a whole bunch of long shots/lower volume coins like RDD, MINT, MZC, BERN, TECH... trade them when the trading is good and stake when volume is low
It's better to apportion your investment portfolio between few coins, like ETH, LISK, DGD, MAID, WAVES, DCR, FCT, SC and some othe...
and of course do not forget STEEM =)
you know the irony to me is that there is a dex called bitshares whose graphene technology was used to create steem!
bitshares enables anyone to make their own blockchain based exchange, or to use the code and alter it to create graphene based chains yourself!
bitshares is so hilariously undervalued in part because people do not know this...
so if you like steem...but think we should make it easy for anyone to compete with wallstreet, then you have been missing out on #bitshares!

Personally got some interests for: Cloud storage coin: Sia/Storj, Social: Steem/Synereo, Privacy: Dash/Monero, Smart Contract: Ethereum, Counterparty/Rootstock.
Ethereum, Waves, Lisk, these are the ones im invested in other then Steem. I am also looking at upcoming ICO's (Initial Coin Offerings). I do some research about the companies who offer ICO and If I like the tech I invest into their coins. Usually the prices climb higher once they reach the exchanges.
It is always better to invest into favorites, like Etherium. Also I would recommend to track news with forklog http://forklog.net/ . Another usefull resourse is https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/altcoin/

Bitshares is really undervalued at the moment. NIRO is another sleeper imo.
Bitshares is good, but I would still consider DAO, it's highly volatile, but profitable. Ethereum should also rise a few dollars soon
