(cool) Indestructible backup tool

How to store your passowords, backup phrases, private key?!
This is a question that plagues all crytpo-lovers. There is always a trade-off.

Certainly, a back up phrase is better off stored physically on a piece of paper, or laminated piece of paper, or etched in wood, or borrowed in the woods...but seriously, you want to be sure that no matter what happens, you will STILL have access to your backup phrase. Entere: CryptoSTEEL

Wtf is this, really? One must wonder.
Basically a way to write down anything that needs reminding for your crypto world ( and not only! ) and is similarly to engraving. You can store absolutely anything on it...as long as it's in their limit of characters

The big idea for this is to protect against hacking. The risk of course with this are that it can be lost, destroyed or damaged and it's irretrievable. Cryptosteel fixes 2/3 of these worries. It is almost impossible to be destroyed.

Depending on what you want to store in it, you can chose from "HEX" or "MNEMONIC" or, if unsure, you cna get the "ANYKEY". There was a super duper collector's item if you feel like spending 2000$...but is sold out!! Some people are crazy :)

Is it worth it?

I am unsure, at 80$ it does its job. In the same time, it depends on how you see your security. Is it better to write it on a piece of paper, hid it in a sock and forget about it ( maybe more copies though) and keep it very low key or you like to be flashy but obviously, this will attract attention. In the end, it's about preparing for the risk you might expect ( and a few you don't). For most people, the biggest risk is in keeping the keys digitally stored --> once the move to physical storage, the biggest risk is in losing or damaging the data so CryptoSTEEL does its job beautifully.

Damn, it looks cool though :)

If you want to see it in action, check the video below:

Besides, how difficult is it to remember start123?

interesting but indeed video looks a pain in the ass to set-up.

Good article @razvanelulmarin
Come back in my post,

$80 is a bit pricy for what appears to be a glorified encrypted USB drive? Or am I not seeing the benefit here? Is it just the fact that it's less likely to be destroyed?

It's a gimmick, but a fun one!

It won't get destroyed when your house burns? or your drive fails? You trust a USB key? LOL get ready for a bad day down the road.

Wow this looks cool as hell! I am totally using this as a gift idea. Thanks man!

haha. cool bro! I hope you do it.

I don't know, I was curious until I saw the video. That looks like a major pain in the butt.

Interesting idea. But I'm not quite that paranoid...

I have paranoid family members that will love it for Christmas! lol

You should be.

Nice video tnx for sharing

wow it looks awesome. Might have to get me one to store my master password
