CryptoKitties are digital collectibles sold on the Ethereum blockchain. The game launched last October and is so popular that some of the Kitties are going for over $100,000. I guess you could call them the Beanie Babies of the cryptoworld. They consist of two bits of code that are combined to create a new code. This coding defines the kitty and give them defining visual characteristics. The game was produced by a company called Axiom Zen out of Vancouver.
So far there has been $8 million spent on the CryptoKitties and the company takes 3.75% on the trading so Axiom Zen has made at least $300,000. Their also generate revenue from the sale of new kitties and one kitty is generated every 15 minutes.
If these go the route of the Beanie Babies, there is still a while before the fad disappears. Getme while they're hot. Christmas is just a few weeks away.
