RE: Steemdroid - Crowdfunding a Steem Android app

in #crypto8 years ago (edited)

I never got good enough at Java to build anything full-scale, but I've been a non-stop user and active developer of Android since v1.0 on Release Day on the T-mobile G1 (HTC Dream), and have been developing everything from custom-compiled Android ROMs, Porting ROMs to a multitude of devices for the original Developer's work to reach a wider user-base, creating all-inclusive Mod-Packs from scratch, Themes, and writing multi/cross-platform custom rooting scripts.

(The last one solely for the purpose of saving the less-experienced users the time and dangers of blindly following lengthy rooting guides containing multiple steps allowing for simple user-error to cause soft/hard-bricks.)

All of these tasks done for numerous SDK versions, and ranging from (Vanilla) AOSP, to Samsung, Motorola, LG, and HTC's respective propietary Android Overlays/UI's.

TL;DR:

If you need help with anything outside of the coding of the application itself, I would be more than happy to offer any and all of my experience working with the entirety of the Android OS. Of course including the testing/debugging of preliminary versions of the application if any development-hindering issues were to arise.

Anyways, I agree that it's not only a fantastic idea, but also one that will imminently be almost a requirement for much of the user-base to stay as active as Steemit is designed for it's users to be.

Duly noted, thanks!
An Android app is inevitable, but let's try to speed up the process :)
