Waves, Crypto and Hardware Wallets

Safety First!

I always find it a good idea to approach everything in life with the same planning that goes into my surfing. Surfing is never about focusing on the prize only, you can't just rock up at a break and paddle out for the biggest wave in the set and catch it, there are a lot of factors to be considered if you want to enjoy this sport safely , injury free & with your life. Some things to consider would be: The Locals, currents and rips, the impact zone and how to get out of it, where the close out set breaks etc the list goes on. Sure Balls of steel get you somewhere in life, but the locals alone will have yours dented, rusted and lost in the depths of Davy Jones' locker, in no time at all.

Having been an IT trainer for years, I always told my students, if you are going to work on someone's PC, make sure you have a backup. It will be your your mates hard drive that decides to spin for the last time, just as you take the mouse in hand, and you are soon to be ex mate. Shit happens, prepare for the worst and never panic, once you do, you loose control.

Its this same cautious approach that I try and tell all the eager beavers approaching the crypto space, to employ. If you are going to invest and build a long term store of value in something like Bitcoin, make sure your investment is secured before you expose yourself. Its like paddling into a wave of consequence having not worked out an escape route for when things go wrong. More and more we see exchanges getting hacked with the innocent people loosing their crypto, and the exchanges couldn't give a rats ass, if you are lucky enough to get a response from them at all.

A smart approach and hardware wallets go a long way to securing your crypto, and if you are going to play in this space, you should have both. Don't paddle out into what you can't handle, and if you are going to push your boundaries, make sure you can handle the wipeout. If you are going to be foolish or take chances, do it with no more than you are prepared to loose.

I don't surf with people who start freaking out in the car park before we paddle out, I only surround myself with people who's abilities I know and can rely on. Especially when the waves are perfect, that’s when things can & do go wrong. You always come across FUD as they say, I never surf with fear, uncertainty or doubt. A doubting Thomas will do nothing for you except take you down with him. Stay away from FUD!
