Staking on an Android TV Box (part 3)steemCreated with Sketch.

Time to conclude the exercise with Part 3. How to use the headless wallet.

In the previous two articles I explained how to set up the small Pi box and install the Crocodile Cash wallet on it in headless mode.

So how do we use it?

It's actually quite straight forward.

You start the client with

Crocodilecashd

Depending on where you put the executable you may need to add the corresponding path. I put mine under /usr/local/bin. That is a good first test to see if everything is alright.

At first run the wallet will create all the necessary directory structure and a fresh wallet (wallet.dat). These files will be created in your home directory under the .CrocodileCash folder.

To start the wallet in daemon mode running in the background, you need to start it with

Crocodilecashd -daemon

That will run it automatically in the background. You can always check the status with

htop

A few more commands of interest.

To get general information use

Crocodilecashd getinfo

To get staking info use

Crocodilecashd getinfo

If your wallet is encrypted (which it needs to be for staking) use

Crocodilecashd walletpassphrase <password> 9999999999

The last number is the time in seconds for how long it will be unlocked.

You can stop the wallet by using

    Crocodilecashd stop

There are way more commands in the client, which are well documented. For reference please use

Crocodilecashd help

and of course the guides available online like you can find here: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Running_Bitcoin That is for Bitcoin but the CROC wallet is based in Bitcoin.

That concludes the 3 articles, hope it was of some help. Enjoy CROC or any other Bitcoin based token!

Happy Staking!
