The daily view from our desk

Game of Thrones has returned, but did you know more people are learning it’s fictional language than Gaelic. If GOT is not your cup of tea then what about rage yoga, where you’re encouraged to swear and drink beer whilst performing a downward dog. This woman might need more than rage yoga to calm down after a procedure left her with four eyebrows.

“THE LAWS OF GOD AND MEN”

“THERE’S A FORK IN EVERY MAN, AND IT STIRS WHEN YOU PUT A PEN IN HIS HAND.”

It seems like April’s bulls were late to their lent and have finally decided to repent themselves. Contrary to previous exciting weekends, this one looked like a three-day fast, with total market cap climbing less than 1.8% since Friday. As lulls breeds lols, the Hodlonaut saga — described in the last newsletter — continued. Here, Peter McCormack rocked the boat with his funny “informal” legal letter.

The canny response mocked the letter he received three days ago from a commercial litigation law firm in Bedfordshire. Interestingly, the serious missive is a good summary of all the drama, in case you’ve missed out on the fun. While it’s clear Peter is taking a light approach to the harassment, the doxxed ones might still need legal help. For that, Elizabeth Stark — of Lightning Labs, not of Westeros — has started a legal fund to support Hodlonaut’s cause. Alas, even Preston Byrne, one crypto’s most famous lawyers, is helping — pro bono!

WINTER ISN’T COMING

“WHEN YOU PLAY THE GAME OF CRYPTOS, YOU PROFIT OR YOU GET LIQUIDATED. THERE IS NO MIDDLE GROUND.”

Back to the market talk, even last week crypto sentiment was slightly more bearish than expected, as many people were still in disbelief. But now, at least on informal online Crypto Twitter polls, bulls are finally ahead. However, Posty suggests a double top is on the bitcoin cards. This could mean the original cryptoasset would retrace if it fails to hold the $4.8k (£3.65k) support level.

WHAT YOU CAN’T MISS TODAY

DON’T LEAVE FOR THE WEEKEND WHAT YOU SHOULD READ TODAY

▪ Talking about repentance, Decrypt’s Ben Munster had a great “lunch with “the most intellectually dishonest man in the crypto universe”, David Gerard.

▪ Talking about the Iron Throne, there’s another premiere you should watch. Breaker’s Mark Yam interviewed the director of Crypto, a blockchain-themed film.

▪ Talking about interviews, the latest guest of Luke Martin’s podcast is Arthur Hayes, CEO of BitMEX. Must-listen episode about all things degenerate.

▪ Talking about changes in sentiment, there’s a new research report out there that “supports the notion that the cryptomarket has already bottomed out.”

▪ Talking about new releases, you can now buy the eBook version of “Blockchain Competitive Advantage” at a promotional price on Amazon!

▪ Talking about reports, Delphi Digital released its first ”Quarterly Macro Outlook”. The research firm shared a summary of their digital asset analysis here

▪ Lastly, talking about great analysts, Nic Carter ambitiously argues “how to scale Bitcoin (without changing a thing)”. A beautiful piece that solves all BTC forks.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

WE WONDER IF GREED EXPLAINS WHY IT IS RARE

“There are rare moments when nearly everyone in crypto agrees to lay down their grievances & band together under a common cause.”
