In my opinion, it is the best strategy to buy a very small amount from every altcoin because then outliers will push the whole performance of investor's portfoilio. If an investor buys 50% of all the smallest cryptocurrencies he or she will most likely outperform the cryptocurrency market as a whole. The reason for this is that smaller cryptocurrencies have a higher growth potential then larger cryptocurrencies have. Does anybody know if there exists an exchange where many small-cap altcoins can be bought?
