Nice breakdown, this actually helped clear things up a bit. I didn’t realize cBridge uses a hybrid security model with validators plus an optimistic fallback, that’s pretty interesting. The whole validator staking and slashing part makes sense, but yeah… it still comes down to trusting the network to some extent.
