Why people listen and follow stupid youtubers?

The crypto youtube scene exploded this past months, alot of channels getting the 100k subscribers mark, correlating with the whole crypto media attention, bringing alot of mainstream people in the market and youtube is a big source of information. Not all the information on youtube is good and transparent, there is alot of manipulation, and greed from the hosts combined without any knowledge of most of the basic stuff about cryptocurrencies.
Im gonna talk about some examples:
Suppoman
This is probably the most annoying guy in crypto youtube scene, his voice and the way he talks and make videos is hard to watch, i dont understand how people can watch a video or livestream but that is not the problem. Suppoman is know to shill coins that most likely he bought before and get a nice pump from his audience, mainly low cap coins. Recently he got caught on a livestream a message from a IndaHash team member talking about a payed advertising.

Im not saying he can't accept paid reviews and advertising, he needs to be transparent about it before talking about it not saying is a good project he found lol

A 17 years old youtuber that made alot of money promoting the Ponzi Scheme cryptocurrency Bitconnect. How can people trust in a 17 years old that has a crypto course and says in a video that is doesnt know what a public key is ????? This is like learning poker on youtube and the host saying he is not sure what a flush is LOOOL

Tai Lopez
This is "well know" digital marketing guru that seems that is trying to get money from newbies that watch on mainstream news about big gains in cryptocurrencies and want to get involved. He uses mainly social media advertising always flashing money, big houses and expensive cars and a not stupid person can easily see he doesnt really know what he is talking about but he sells a basic cryptocurrency course and share some refferal links to get a % of people investing.
JR Bussiness
This is the most stupid channel i ever see in crypto, the channel is part of a guy that made bank buying and selling cars and now thinks he know about cryptocurrency lol In the video someone says: "Ripple is about to become more decentralized than bitcoin" :o :o :o
Becareful on some sources of information, there is alot of greedy people that only wants to shill their coins and make money from readers or viewers.

my quick guess is cause mostly nobody like to do his own research and just hear words like ''easy money'' '' get rich fast'' and see pictures as you mentioned too with luxurious houses etc etc.
And the best part is that they want to blame someone when the fail so hat sums up i think the whole idea! :)
Very good point! That is the most probably reason, and this youtubers target that keywords.

@johnycrypto man thanks for this. I've been thinking about this for a while as in my view it's a major issue. Would be great to look at top 20 most subscribed crypto technical analysts and track how their predictions have done. At the end of the day there's a small number of people in the world who really understand the space and the underlying technology of these coins. And they are not on youtube for the most part. Everyone else is just looking for a quick buck.
Yeah i feel you, the calls and predictions is not that important in my opinion, the knowledge provided and the serious behind it is the most important thing. People that create content without the main reason is to earn money from the viewers are usually the best ones providing knowledge.

Youtube, it is not the best place to get your crypto information, most of the time people talk to say nothing. Also, the time is a limited resource, better not watching them ;)
Yeah i think is not the best place to get information and is not fast. I like the video time point, i think youtube is good for general news, opinions, technical analysis and discussion in livestreams
All for views. I could do the same if i know that i will have subs and views.
That shouldn't be the focus of making videos, for sure subs and views is needed but the content needs to be good, in my opinion
