"Further-more": Aksakov promised to strengthen control over holders of cryptocurrencies in the Russian Federation
Anatoly Aksakov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market, says that over time, control over operations with cryptocurrencies in Russia will only increase. He made the corresponding statement in a conversation with the radio station"Says Moscow".
"Taxation, mandatory declaration-these things are already in force in the legislation. And then there will only be more and more control over the holding of cryptocurrencies, " he promised.
Aksakov also noted that, according to his expectations, issues related to cryptocurrencies will be taken "under strict regulation" before the end of this year. He stressed that the cryptocurrency assets of citizens should be taxed, and added that for violations in this area, liability is provided, up to criminal.
The deputy also recalled that bitcoin cannot be used as a means of payment in the territory of the Russian Federation. "Nothing foreshadows a change in legislation towards the recognition of cryptocurrencies as a means of payment," he explained.
Recall that the law "On Digital Financial Assets" came into force on January 1, 2021. It introduces a ban on the use of cryptocurrencies to pay for goods and services, and also contains references to documents that, among other things, prescribe the principles of regulating mining and responsibility for tax evasion. Currently, they are still being approved by the relevant departments.
Seems like the Russian government is really worried about the future of their currency.
Just recently we had the news saying that Russians were prohibited from investing in offshore companies.
Future is decentralized.
