Hard wallet - Ledger Nano S - How to restore ?

I hear from many people that if you have hard wallet it puts on danger your crypto savings ....
Of course if you have your wallet stolen, it is put you on danger =0. But if your wallet got damaged or lost, you can recover the funds !!!
