While rivalry rages among businesses around the world, consumers are aware that only those that add value can stand out. FuturAqua, a bottled water company operating in a highly competitive industry is taking advantage of Blockchain technology to make a difference.

FuturAqua creates the Watereum

Bottled mineral water company FuturAqua , based in Pécs, southwest Hungary, has created a digital currency from the global water market.

Holders of the cryptocurrency Watereum (WRM) will be able to buy mineral water . "10 billion digital chips will be put into circulation," said FuturAqua.

FuturAqua is currently listed on the stock market of the Budapest Stock Exchange. The company will grant blockchain-based water production quotas through an Initial Coin Offering (ICO). Tokens will first be offered to investors and shareholders during pre-sale and will subsequently be sold to external investors in the private sale phase.

Decide the price

The price of a Watereum has not been disclosed yet. István Fodor told MTI media that the board is discussing the issue.

One of the main factors determining the selling price of digital tokens would be the number of chips supported by the drinking water initially purchased by FuturAqua in Szekszárd, Hungary.

While FuturAqua is a pioneer in the use of Blockchain in the bottled water industry, it would be interesting to see how it will evolve in the face of competition.

What do you think of creating a cryptocurrency in the bottled water sector? Do you think there will be other mineral water companies that would consider launching their own virtual currency? Comment in the comments section below.
