Armageddon: Masternode Hosting at Its Best

As we approach 2019, one of the latest gems of blockchain technology really stars to hit its stride: masternode. Where Point-Of-Work only operates safely on large scale networks and Point-Of-Stake always have the tendency to create wealth-accumulation in favor of safety, masternode technology rises as "the" solution especially for smaller to mid-size networks. As the blockchain technology finds new use-cases, there is no doubt to me that there will be more and more blockchain networks within that scale. With that being said, every blockchain needs an abundance of nodes to operate safely which in masternodes case is only possible with the ability and willingness of investors to run a masternode. Until recently running a masternode was a tedious task, even with the help of a blockchain team it requires a certain commitment to set-up, keep up-to-date and safe. The solution was a user-friendly masternode hosting platform that investors of any level of technical knowledge can use. It wasn't just one team that started building on this idea, but actually a few which I was closely watching for my own interest. Armageddon is one of these projects which with its recent development has taken the lead in the game. Let's see what we have.

The Hosting Platform is already up and running with a number of blockchains you can deploy including Armageddon's own blockchain. The shared masternode service is currently under development and according to the roadmap, will come into use before the end of the year. As far as I can tell from the roadmap and from the discussions on the Discord channel, the team is currently focused on the development of the platform and they want to finish their job before Q2 2019 to begin developing second-degree applications like Android/iOS apps. One important point that needs to be made is since the release of the platform everything works smoothly without hitting any major issues, the team followed the roadmap fine so far and this is an important advantage compared to other projects which sadly couldn't.

Below you can see the layout of the hosting platform:

I'm a big fan of the design choice embracing the "less is more" motto. Using fancy, graphic-heavy designs for functional web-sites is always a bad idea. Showing available masternodes on the landing page is a clever, after all there are more blockchains than an average investor can keep track of and it is important to introduce them. The card layout is spot-on for its purpose; each card contains absolutely all the information an investor might need to get started: masternode collateral in dollars and the current ROI, a direct link to an exchange to purchase the currency and all the official links to make a research. Even without any intention to invest, this layout can be a useful tool to search the market. Maybe in the future, when there are more blockchains on the platform, they add a feature to sort blockchains by specifications like ROI, price etc. and also a search feature.

After you click install on a masternode, the system guides you through the process. They divided the procedure to easily understandable, small steps which is an important choice for mass-adoption. Whoever designed this website clearly knows a lot about user-friendly design. When you're done you can see your masternode in the Portfolio section. At this process there is only one important issue affecting the user experience. The payment for hosting service has to be made in Armageddon's own AGDN coin, which is fine. But, other than an answer in FAQ section, this is never mentioned. So the investor learns that he has to buy AGDN at the last minute which wouldn't be such a big deal but AGDN is only available on Crypto-Bridge which is a great Graphene based platform but not the user-friendliest and if the investor hasn't used it before he has to open an account, learn how to use it, he also needs some BTC to use it etc. But this is not the issue, the issue is that he learns it at the last minute; no, the system has to let people know that it operates with AGDN in the first place. On the landing page, it should say "the system works with AGDN, this much for this hosting time, buy it here".

Apart from some very minor improvements, my overall experience of Armageddon project is without a doubt excellent. As a promising blockchain project with a proven product, I would urge you to consider the AGDN coin and masternode as investment options. If you feel like going through the project yourself visit the Website and join the community on Discord.
