Don't have time to dig into the project's more recent history...but I thought it worth mentioning! - you could also add this forth musqueteer to the Golem gang: GRIDCOIN. Linked to the highly reputable Berkeley BOINC... even though at first sight not as profit minded...it has a proven record of an existing network of volunteers and a whole growing list of possible projects to run, compared to the competitors which still have in a varying degree to deliver... so maybe one to keep an eye on too!
