The Financial Stability Board of the National Bank of Ukraine plans to create a working group to study and analyze the legal status of the crypto currency in Ukraine and the world. This is reported by the press-service of the financial controller.

It is reported that during the meeting of the council, considerable attention was paid to this issue. In particular, the problems of regulating circulation of crypto-currencies and the taxation of transactions with it were discussed.

A variety of approaches to the determination of the status of crypto-currencies and regulatory approaches in different countries of the world was also noted. So, in the European Union Bitcoin does not have the legal status of currency or money, but it is accepted by individuals and legal entities as a means of exchange and can be transferred, stored or sold electronically.

As a result of the discussion, it was decided to conduct a more detailed analysis of the legal status of Bitcoin and other crypto-currencies in Ukraine and the world, for which an ad-hoc working group will be created.

Previously, the NBU has stated its position about Bitcoin.
