A Block Chain Cheering Grandma Introducing Myself!

It’s me Barb Cederberg. This post is to introduce myself to Steemit (I think that is the proper name for the platform) as a person who has lots of fascination for anything to do with the internet since 2004. I only started even “surfing” the internet in 2001 when I didn’t even have a clue how to send an email. I had my own business as a “headhunter” but was still faxing to my clients.

By 2004 I could see the wonderful opportunity that the web presented. I have been on a journey and learned so much about business on the internet trying many business models. Decided to pursue my hearts desire and re-visit myself, or reinvent myself as an artist. I sold downloads of electronic artwork into the scrapbooking market, I sold pdfs as “Learn To Draw” Books and even had a subscription site that was a video drawing school. Now some of my ventures succeeded, and some not so much.

I am a grandmother – a baby of the boom… and while I know many people my age are still not that internet savvy I have always found technology so fascinating. Perhaps being on this journey for so long (at least the last 13 years) and the fact that I have sold digital goods, helped me to understand the crypto-currencies when I first found out about them.

Now, I could still kick myself in the butt for missing Bitcoin at $236.00 and even missing it again at $781.00 – but what I saw when I came back to the crypto market at $1,700.00 is that I knew this was something important. So yeah I bought and I am not looking back. At least I try not to. I have always tried to just look at the road ahead not peering over my shoulder at my mistakes. Yikes.

I will be writing here on the Steemit platform cause I find the thought of a new social media on the blockchain amazing. We need more things that are decentralized and I love the idea of the Block Chain.

Notice I called my Blog “GranBlock” - yes, I joke about being a “Granny” cause I find it funny. I still don’t see myself that way. However, I do have the most amazing three-year-old grandson, and I want to help with his future. I want to help educate him and hopefully promote an open and investigative mind. Maybe avoid the dumbing down process of the school system.

I think this blog will be an opportunity for me to talk to like-minded souls. I have so many interests and find that I drive most of my friends and family crazy with all of the things I want to rant about. So here I am and looking forward to living, sharing, and learning!
