lots of coins can only be purchased with Bitcoin ... It's the daddy :)
But a growing number can now be purchased with Ether
Can I get PIVX with ETH?
you can always sell the ETH for BTC and buy whichever currency you want on bittrex.
Yeah I want to avoid BTC fees and transactions times if possible
you dont need to wait on bittrex :)
Oh right I get it but I need to get my Bitcoin onto bittrex as I use Coinbase atm so will need to deposit into bittrex thanks dude
thats the whole point of n exchange
On some exchanges yes. But every exchange offers different options. You can trade anything for BTC and then buy what you want with that
