Many people are focused on one or many crypto plays and trying to strike gold from those. Before one can get into the micro economics of the cryptoworld I think it is important to understand the macro picture and put things into perspective.
The world stock markets are valued at about 100 Trillion US dollars, this is spread across 60 exchanges. Approximately 17 of which are worth over 1 US trillion dollars each. Keep in mind that the stock exchanges have existed since the 1800s and people have become accustomed to them and are now perceived as trusted investment avenue.
The cryptomarket on the other hand is in its infancy. Bitcoin was established in 2008 and the crypto market didn't really took off until just few years back. To really put things in perspective though, lets look at the capitalization value.
As of today the cryptomarket is $0.5 Trillion US dollars.
This places the global market cap of the crypto exchanges at ONLY 0.5% in comparison to the global stock markets!!!!!!!
Granted the crypto market is very immature since most exchanges have no mechanisms to prevent fraud, money laundering (AML). Some allow for anonymous trading and even the ones that have user identification (KYC) the whole process is very weak and doesn't even come close to the processes that a traditizonal bank has. Not to mention the recent hacks which has resulted in some of the biggest ever!
All of these issues really amount to distrust from the largest investors to get into the game. However, I believe that as more businesses ness adopt the crypto markets these issues will slowsly start to get resolved. Based on this I can assure you that the crypto market will grow massively from it's current position.
