We entering a time which we will probably remember as the hashwars. Which are the reason for the price action for the last days.
Me watching my portfolio
This look pretty much sums up my reaction when I read tweets and posts from or about the coming hashwar.
Many of us were looking forward to BAKT which was hopefully bringing some fresh wind and money and should have maybe even pushed us out of the Bearmarket to new highs.
As a serious investor would you be interested in a market like this atm? Where 2 mad man can crash the market who seemingly never can play nice?
Why is Bitcoin so important?
Bitcoin is the oldest and most battle proven coin. If it should fail at some point this would be very bad for every POW coin. It has the most hashpower, the biggest network effect and it has been the honeypot for hackers for years, they could not get into.
The confidence in the whole crypto space would be purged.
I am certain BTC would not go away but it would set us back for years.
With the threat of a 51% attack against Roger Ver`s BCC it would be possible that Bitmain gets involved to prevent this, pulling resources from the BTC-Network. Conclusively, if the hashratewar continues, then it will have a negative impact on both Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash.
As the most dominant cryptocurrency in the market, any negative sentiment surrounding BTC will inevitably pose an effect on the rest of the market.
The split is done and trading will start at 8 am ( UTC ), so in around 1 hour on Binance. source
It will be interesting how the market reacts.
