Building myself a Crypto future
I have made it official.
Every month I will spend 150 Swiss Franks (roughly the same as 150 dollar) on expanding my crypto portfolio.
I have just set up the Standing order with my bank and every month on the 28th they will transfer this sum to my Lykke wallet as Swiss franks so that I can then from there inject it into the Cryptosphere.
The question is what to invest in?
- be safe and buy the big coins
- be faithful and buy STEEM
- go for it and search small coins
- jump in the deep end and buy ICOs
What do you guys thing about this and what would you do?
I really believe (have done so for a while now) that crypto will change the world. Living close to Crypto valley in Zug helps me make connections and go to all sorts of interesting meetups.
But uptil now I have only invested in spur of the moment.
This way will be more of a dollar cost averaging since this really seems to be a sensible thing to do. This amount of money every month will not kill me (if I lose it) but putting it in my savings account will not really bring me anything either.
So investing in something I like and am passionate about and believe in is also my way of showing commitment to the sphere.
This is my portfolio so far. I have been taking a bit of SBD out here and there and been reinvesting it in other coins (such as @smartcash and @bitshares)
the SXDT was a ICO of spectre and has really gone up in value for me hence the big proportion.
I had a bit more of BTC but have sold that for more STEEM before the current drop. Lets see what BTC and STEEM will do.
Now I do not think that Mahatma was talking about my decision to buy crypto but in a sense he is right.

Hi Felander, I live in Horgen, let's meet and try to build a Steem chapter for Zurich? What do you think?
BTW I do the same, each month I buy around 150-200 CHF worth of new coins. I thing is better than just throwing it to the 3rd Pillar account. I would try to buil a 20-30 different coins. I have now a big stake in Steem, well... "big" compared to how much I have in other ones.
I keep the largest stakes at EOS, ADA, Steem, and then decreases by coin to other smaller like VET (VeChain Thor) and XRB (called Nano now).
we have a swiss discord channel already

Smartsteem, hehe I am doing whitelist monitoring, I suppose we have not crossed over there yet. Cheers!
Hey @felander,
i am quite curios why you chose your portfolio like this. Would you like to explain why BTC has such a low priority and what are the benefits of SMART?
Would love to read a post about it.
P.S.: NEO is a good choice one of my favs :)
well, the BTC thing kind of evolved I guess. Most people swear by it and have it as a big part of their portfolio. The lightning network is changing things now but when I got into the whole crypto thing last year bitcoin just got slower and slower and more and more expensive to use. I kind of got an aversion to it.
I might get a bit more pro in the future but for now I am ok with not having a lot of BTC.
For me a coin like smart has a bit more use, its more geared to be a currency and there is a big community behind it. They are also very active on steem. I got a bit when it was quite cheap and then it went up in price in hitbc where I sold and was able to kinda triple my amount of coins and then I scraped the rest together to get 10000 to have enough for a masternode.
I like the concept of proof of stake vs proof of work (another minus for BTC) and building a passive income appeals to me
Thats a great decision Bart! i also recently did my first crypto investment in 25 Steem :) its a small amount but im planing to build up a crypto portfolio with a similar strategy as yours! good luck with all your investments.
yea, I got lucky and managed to also take out a bit of SBD to diversify. Most of my coins come from blogging on steem and that is what is so cool about this whole thing
but you need to build up a bit of steem to get some traction and votes to build up steem so.... and so on
Thus u had a great journey so far....hitting 10k SMART means nowadays something and that in under 285 days. Good job and sorry for stalking your stats :D
no worries, i posted them and they are open for all to see...
I do it all the time
thats what i realized, investing time and money will double the "return on investment". :)
i think double is underestimated...steem wil go easy over 10 dollar, and more
we'll see, time will bring the truth. i still have some question marks. will read the whitepaper properly and perhaps invest a bigger amount. we are in this together :)
