5 Reasons why I'm backing Triforce Tokens

in #crypto6 years ago (edited)

I’ve been investing in ICO’s for a good six months now, and one of the key areas where I think blockchain technology is going to really assert itself is gaming – a high-growth industry that Newzoo estimates will be worth $128.5 bm globally by 2020. I mean, it’s a match made in heaven isn’t it – crypto and gaming: both worlds are anti-establishment, highly technical, unashamedly nerdy. Gamers are also big technophiles and a key demographic when it comes to early adoption.

However, although it’s obvious that crypto and gaming are going places together, the question remains – which projects are going to rise to the top? The marketplace is already fairly crowded with new blockchain projects aiming at capitalising on this promising market in a variety of different ways – Crycash, Gameflip, FirstBlood, Play2Live… the list goes on. The good news, I think, is that gaming as an industry is host to a wide variety of niches and subcultures, and, as such, it has never been possible for a single company or brand to grab the whole market share. The pie is big enough for Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft… for distribution platforms like Steam, Origin and GoG – gamers are an eclectic bunch, with very different attitudes and needs, and so I think there will be room in crypto for a selection of successful tokens with different USPs and objectives.

That being said, there is one project that speaks the most to me as a gamer, and that I think is likely to emerge head and shoulders above the rest. Here are five reasons why I think Triforce Tokens is so promising.

#1 - It will allow both players AND developers to profit

Player attrition is a serious problem for the gaming industry, particularly in the rapidly growing indie sector. Triforce Tokens’ ecosystem will incentivise loyalty and encourage longer-term engagement with particular games, bringing game developers and players together to create a more enjoyable and lucrative experience for both. Player experience within games will improve and even become profitable as they develop their virtual wallet and reputation within the community. Developers will simultaneously increase their revenues and margins, which will accordingly lead to further innovation and the continued development of quality games – which is another win for the players, of course.

#2 - They recognise how important community is to gamers

Ask any gamer worth their salt: a good community can make or break your online gaming experience. As part of their ecosystem, and in order to encourage collaboration and positive interaction between players, TriForce Tokens will include an honour system that will encourage players to work together and reward each other. The intention is to cut down on griefers and abusive chat feeds, and foster more quality interactions. This is another way the ecosystem is able to improve the in-game experience for players, and an additional means of improving player retention for developers: people inevitably want to stay and be part of positive communities, and – on the flipside – toxic communities can be hugely off-putting to newcomers.

#3 - They are combatting piracy

Let’s face it – piracy sucks, and it hurts the risk-taking, boundary-pushing indie companies the worst: the small developers who simply don’t have the resources to fight it. Accordingly, Triforce Tokens will deploy unique anti-piracy strategies, drawing upon blockchain technology for its transparency and authentication mechanisms to provide developers with a cost-effective means of detecting suspicious player activities across their games. As gamers, it’s in our interests for the money to flow to the companies who deserve it, so that they can keep producing the games we love – and Triforce Tokens is working to make sure that is the case.

#4 - They are leveraging the power of Big Data and Behavioural Analysis to ensure they deliver exactly what we want

Triforce Tokens are are extremely serious about providing a service that reflects what the gaming community actually wants, and – as a consequence – they are deploying some seriously cutting edge Market Research strategies, including Big Data and behavioural analysis.

#5 - They are gamers themselves

However, the most encouraging thing for me about the project is the fact that the team behind Triforce Tokens are passionate gamers themselves. You only have to look at their Twitter feed to see that we’re not dealing with the usual bunch of corporate drones or colourless fintech experts. These are people who love their gaming as much as we do –OK, they might be exceptionally well-qualified gamers (one team member is a senior professor on Ethical Hacking and Computer Security at Coventry University) – but they ARE gamers nonetheless.

And I think that’s the real crux: gaming is about passion – that’s the thing that unites us, whether we’re console gamers or PC gamers, FPS die-hards or RPG nuts. Without the real passion for gaming, no project of this nature will succeed – and, fortunately, Triforce Tokens seems to have it in spades.
