Splinterlands | Xenith Archer Challenge
When it comes down to Neutral cards, most of them are in general less powerful compared to class cards and this is very much the case for the Xenith Archer which is a 2 Mana Ranged attack card. My personal way of going about my collection is that I don't go higher than Level 5 Rare Summoners (Level 3 I would say is even more optimal where my alt account is at). Level 5 allows being competitive in Gold League even though you will face many players that have level 6 summoners.
The Xenith Archer at level 5 is simply not a competitive card compared to some of the class cards that are available in the game who all have 2 Ranged Damage (which is a massive difference) or either really powerful abilities. The Xenith Archer at level 5 has Low speed, low health, low attack. So overall it's not a card worth paying 0.19$ a copy for making it cost 7.6$ while I don't think I would ever use it even in Modern Format. Instead of this card, I highlighted one of the alternatives in my battle...
The match I played had Slow & Holy Protection as game rules and a total of 34 mana to use. My daily Focus is Death and my go-to strategy for this rule is to first knock out all the Divine Shields placing the Curved Slimeball. This was followed by my main frontline tank combination in the Chain Golem & The Corrupted Pegasus. I put the 6-mana Boogeyman in 4th place which despite giving a slow advantage to the opponent didn't have high speed itself while reducing the armor for the opponent. The Undead Archer was my 2-mana ranged card of choice which is way more optimal than the Xenith Archer as you basically get 2 good abilities on top of the same stats for free.
It was a fun competitive fight between having higher-level cards and having a wider collection available to choose from. In most cases, the cards that shine in the specific rules make a big difference. I also aimed all my damage at the frontline monster which allowed me to crush the opponent. The advantage of this is that the first to kill a monster from the opponent in the next round pretty much takes less damage allowing to increase the lead even more.
