Crypto and Bitcoin Millionaire Numbers Reach New Heights

The cryptocurrency sector saw significant growth over the past year, marked by a dramatic increase in crypto and Bitcoin millionaires.

Surge in Crypto Millionaires

The Crypto Wealth Report 2024(https://www.henleyglobal.com/publications/crypto-wealth-report-2024) revealed that the number of crypto millionaires rose to 172,300 by June 30, a 95% increase from the previous year. This growth brought their total market cap to $173.3 billion. Last year, there were about 88,200 crypto millionaires.

Additionally, the number of cryptocurrency billionaires grew to 28, and centi-millionaires—those with $100 million or more—reached 325.

Bitcoin Millionaires Experience Unprecedented Growth
Bitcoin millionaires increased by 111% to 85,400. The count of Bitcoin centi-millionaires doubled to 156, while Bitcoin billionaires rose by 83%, totaling 11.

Bitcoin users grew to 275 million, up 31%, while the overall crypto user base expanded to 560 million, reflecting a 32% increase.

Factors Driving the Growth
Key factors behind this growth included Bitcoin's price surge, which reached a record high of $73,750.07. Over the year, Bitcoin’s value increased by 142%, from about $26,100 in August 2023 to $63,148.

The introduction of the Spot Bitcoin ETF, particularly the BlackRock Bitcoin ETF, also contributed. BlackRock’s ETF saw inflows of $224 million and outperformed other ETFs.

The rise in crypto and Bitcoin millionaires highlights the sector's rapid growth and investment potential. This surge is attributed to Bitcoin’s price performance and the successful introduction of Bitcoin ETFs.
