Crypto that’s from the superman song! Right?

I’ve been having such a hard time grasping the concept of Crypto. I’ve spent restless nights (like tonight) reading posts, watching videos, I know their are 100s of varying types, but I’m trying to stick to a few of the top 15 for my research right now.

If anyone has links to basic layman’s descriptions I’d love to check them out. I feel like the more I try to research on my own the deeper I get and I’m drowning.
