Just to clarify, Coinhive is actually a legit company that allows one to mine crypto with their current computer power. One that owns a website can add Coinhive code to make their visitors give up computing power to mine coin as well. They are just supposed to inform them of this if they choose to use it.
The problem is that scammy people are hiding the code and trying to turn other people's computers into miners without them knowing.
Coin isn't being stolen through Malware, but computing power is being stolen to mine coins without the knowledge of certain users.
I would hate to see this be the new norm. I understand it's it's an exchange for goods and services and 3rd party ads are not generating income like they used to but it's like we need Brave Browser or disable all JavaScript to browse the internets.

Yes, the idea is good. Instead of ads, you pay for a website by computing power. The hiding part is the not cool bit.
