IAGON: REINVENTING CLOUD SERVICES

My entry to @originalworks for the contest: IAGON

This post is about a new cloud storage system on the blockchain that will revolutionise the way data can be stored on the cloud.

INTRODUCTION

As an individual or as a firm whether small or large scale, once you get into the world of computing, data processing or analysis, there is always going to be need for more storage and processing power especially for those firms involved in complex computations. Speed and capacity is the basis upon which modern technologies are being introduced into the market. At 2010, when I got my first java phone , i had a memory card of 512MB and that was the life for me then. But by the time I was done with downloading songs and films the card was filled and there I was seeking for a larger memory card.
With the help of solid state devices and miniaturization, we now have local storages that are up to 32, 64 and 128GB for mobile phones and ur to 2 or 4TB for laptops and desktops systems. And in term of processing power , laptops now run at speeds over 2.8 billio cycles per second. The reason for this high speed and storage is due to high amounts of data being amassed by modern day computations. Quoting from the words of the Charles Dickens famous book major character, Oliver twist I say: "can I have some more please."
The local storages we have now are characterized by:

  • fast data transfer speed
  • User control of backed up files
  • in the event of a breach , removing the storage hardware was the only measure taken.

The pitfalls however, led to the invention of cloud storage. Local storages are expensive to purchase and maintain; onsite disaster can lead to the overall damage of data and accessibility was limited.
The cloud storage is basically a service where data is maintained , managed and backed up. The storage is online, enabling the user acces the data from almost anywhere in the world (remember, I said almost). The service cost was considerable (3cents per GB). The technology still has its flaws:

  • Slow internet speed can discourage the user from uploading large files.
  • Data can mingle with other files on the cloud making a mess of things.
  • If the user uses up his band with or needs some special kind of cloud services he has to pay more.
  • What if I don't have internet???

With the problems being faced by the current cloud storage service system , IAGON has decided to revolutionize it: make it smarter and better.

WHAT IS IAGON?

IAGON is an open source, secure and encrypted platform for harnessing the storage capacities and processing power of multiple computers over a decentralized blockchain grid. The storage range from Big Data files to small scale files and to carry out computational processes required for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning operations.
The aim for this innovation is reinvent the cloud services by offering a decentralized grid of storage and processing units. Any unused storage and processing power of servers an personal computers can be integrated to form a super computer.

IAGON is here because of the rapid growth rate of processing power and storage required by AI and Big Data.

IAGON AND CHANGING THE CLOUD SERVICE SYSTEM

  • Computing is the way the world is tending; everyone is accumulating data and sometimes data that cannot be handled by the various individuals and firms. Big firms who store data on their severs also want to provide this services to customers. Companies who have sufficient cloud storage to provide their customers do so on a system that is prone to failure. Cloud operations involve transfer of data and files from the user"s local storage on computer and servers into a remote storage obscure to the user. Faults can occur during upload or retrieval. The faults can be crash faults or performance degrading faults.

  • Security of files and data on the cloud is another issue. The system may be strong enough to block off intruders but in the event that they gain access, the intruder can do with the data and files what he pleases.

  • Artificial intelligence is an innovation that is reshaping the world of computations. Operations like pattern recognition, voice analysis and text analysis are some of these operations. The thing is they require large processing power and storage that most firms who want to delve into the world of artificial computing cannot afford.

IAGON AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

The most distinguishing factor between everyday PC and super computers is its ability to learn from past events and predict the future. IAGON is using this feature to bring the best cloud service user experience to its customers. With every operation carried out, the AI learns and provides a more accurate result the next time. It is likened to the human brain and from its past "memories", it uses complex mathematics and algorithms to break large data sets to achieve an intelligent decision or inferences.
Organizations who want to embrace AI, do so at the expense of storage and processing power. When firms are unable to provide the required storage and processing services for their rapidly accumulated data , they employ the " big guns" in the cloud service industry ( Microsoft and the lots). But there are sensitive information these organization would not want to be on the cloud for confidentiality reasons and this places them in a tight place. Dump the AI or risk data and file breach. Even worse what if they can't afford the AI in the first place ??!!
Well not to worry,IAGON brings to you the SMART COMPUTING GRID PLATFORM. It is seeming to an power grid but instead of wires and high voltages , we have :

  • A means for connecting multiple producers to consumers.
  • Transfer unused resources to customers in need.

Distributed is a key word on IAGON. The AI tracker is the brain behind the grid system. The concept of multi processing plays a key broke here. Time slices are allotted to processes optimally on the network and a continuous analysis of data and events will enable the tracker know which storage or processing unit on the network is available for use.

Mr A has a computation to be done and has made an erroneous judgement to the processing and storage required ; the smart grid can scour through the network and find the appropriate storage and processing unit to enable him complete his task.

IAGON AND AND SECURITY

If the data is on the server then it's important. Cloud services approached security using DATA LAKE ARCHITECTURE. The architecture uses a central database in which file or data of any format can be stored and retrieved on/from. It is user friendly and applies to all scale or business. There is flaw. In the event an intruder gains access into the lake, he can brake a virtual swim and play around with the files. This is so because the files are whole and not encrypted.
IAGON introduces SECURE DATA LAKE ARCHITECTURE. The data and files will be converted into encrypted slices and distributed over the network. So even if the intruder gains access, it would be useless because he does not have access to the encrypted files.
In the AI and Big Data oriented organizations, the data lake can be embraced fully because of the "security" added by the IAGON platform. The only person with access to the uploaded files on the network is the user. No one can modify, delete, retrieve, change or even identify source of data slices.

IAGON AND THE BLOCKCHAIN

IAGON is going to exist on the blockchain and thus inheriting all the properties. The blockchain over the years have proven itself reliable in storing, maintaining , processing and distributing large amount of data. The technology is just block hashed together to form chains. Nodes on the chain can store the whole data or part of the data.
The IAGON blockchain is designed and built to integrate seamlessly with existing IT infrastructure. No more expensive deployment phase. Their application are going to be integrated to a very secure, fast and reliable cloud storage system for a considerable amount.

  • Blockchain Security: specific digital prints must first be identified before the system can validate if a request has an honest node.
  • Blockchain and AI: since there will be nodes on the system and an AI overseeing things, the machine learning algorithms will enable IAGON's AI distribute data over the network to several nodes based on the task to be performed.
  • Blockchain and mining: mining is the linking of blocks to form chain. In the mining process, the storage, processing and validation of data can be done by network of nodes or within the walls of an organization where processing is outsourced to decentralized network of nodes. The cost will be borne by the IAGON team and inputs from stakeholders. For scalability in the future IAGON will be employing multiple private blockchains to reduce the risk of a single node failing the system.

IAGON ARCHITECTURE

The architecture is broken into 3 distinct parts

  1. Machine learning algorithms
  2. Blockchain and mining
  3. Encryption and decryption.
    When blocks are to be mined the user sends a request to IAGON, and the algorithm will send the blocks over to miners for them to find a signature. After validation, the data to be sent over chain must contain a pattern that would enable the machine learning algorithm identify a node that would process the block.
  • Privacy: except an individual have processed a whole block and mapped out patterns to find correlation to a blocks then the nodes remain anonymous and private . Only an AI can perform such pattern recognition. When these data are distributed using the proof of variance (PoV), the data are nor stored but processed quickly. The quicker the miners process data the faster their rewards will come. This is a way of ensuring a faster mining Blockchain.
  • Integrity: the SHA256 algorithm is used in linking chains. Blocks to be mined must correspond with the previously hashed data. Every output will be crosschecked with a header to ensure that no modification of the data has taken place.
  • Learning: learning is an integral part of life and now computing. The REINFORCEMENT LEARNING is employed on IAGON. It is based on Markov's Decision. The theory is once a present state has been given the future can be decided independent of the past.

IAGON MINING:

The way miners operate on the IAGON platform will be quite different. Their sole duty is to process and send output data back to the machine learning algorithm for appropriate analysis. The whole mining will be done over a decentralized computing network(smart grid). Once a validated output is sent by the miner, the mining is said to have been completed.

  • Efficiency: ideally, removal of blocks can be done by letting the process run on the random access memory of the unit computer or a garbage program that will effectively remove blocks from disks. IAGON has chosen a more optimal approach: MULTITHREADING. A thread basically is a process within a process. It makes competing the gas faster. While one thread handles communication and data processing another hands the GUI interaction.
    The system can identify the speed at which miners mine blocks. In the event that a miner goes offline or disconnects or leaves a task unfinished the system quickly resends the data block to another node for processing.
  • Algorithm: the PoV uses probability density function in determining data distribution and miner classification. The classification will be based on the miner's contribution to the pool. Miners in the same pool can compete for rewards; be upgraded or downgraded based on how fast they mine data and how much data is mined. SPEED IS NOT ALL!!!

Neureal helps their users predictions based on provided data. They can utilize IAGON technology to handle heavy computational aspects of their work. This will ensure the integrity and security of their network as well as save costs on cloud computing.

IMMVRSE
IMMVRSE is a blockchain project specializing in VR. It is a marketplace as well as a VR video-sharing platform. IAGON's data storage services will help ensure that IMMVRSE can provide their users with high speed service without costing as much as traditional storage services would charge.

BitNautic
BitNautic is developing a decentralizing logistics platform for the shipping industry. Their system contains an AI element that will require large amounts of computing power as they scale. IAGON's super computer can handle the computational aspects of the business, that will help with booking and real-time tracking of ships!

CONCLUSION

Data accumulation and complex computations are the things we cannot do without or avoid in the IT world. The AI( assuming it is affordable) helps us with complex computations but at a very steep price: storage. Resorting to the cloud storage seem to be the way to go but its frail technology and services are not encouraging. Now IAGON is here to change all that. As a user I can carry out complex computations just as done by the AI using other users processing power. And when data accumulated becomes too much to bear, I can us their storage. All this is done with the utmost security and privacy. Getting rewarded for sharing my storage and processing unit on the IAGON chain is the cherry on the cake. IAGON is smart, secure , private, choose IAGON!!!
