General Overview of Velas Blockchain Nodes
The Velas blockchain platform is associated with neural networks which is managed by artificial intelligence to promote its consensus algorithms. Technically, Velas main purpose is to fix and address existing issues associated with already existing blockchains.
Generally, there are two types of nodes in the Velas network. Firstly, the Block Generation Node also known as BGN and secondly, All remaining nodes. During the connection process, the node sends a request to DNSeeds and a list or what is otherwise known as slice is gotten. While the BGN on the other hand can send a request to any address of it choice and also gets a list or what is otherwise known as node_slice. The node is then allowed to send a request to any of the generated list and proceed to connect to the list. Upon a successful connection, the node will be registered. However, in some cases, there’s likely not to be free slots in the nodes and if this happens, the node will provide some list of some slave nodes which you can make connection request from else, it will just connect to any slave nodes and proceed with registration. But if you can search through the ‘tree’ throughly, you will notice that the cycle keeps going until the node is able to locate free slots to connect with.
When this is done, the nodes will then synchronize and sends a request like this sync ().
Additionally, it’s either you find the node at the back of a NAT or not. If the node is not with a NAT, it will request to connect with other nodes, which are actually seven in number. Also note that the node will be connected to a TCP server. And it’s important that the connection is maintained. If the connection is lost, all the points will disappear too. That’s a loss.
The network comprises two different kinds of messages. They are:
Node to and fro master message
Messages not reaching the slave nodes.
Types of Nodes
Node is categorized into three. They all function differently.
- Master Node
- Advisors
- Typical Nodes
The master node is a property of the network organizer. Starting from three nodes, additional nodes are still needed to ascertain the availability of network. There is what is called a release candidate version in the network. At a certain stage, usually stage 4 of the release candidate, master node is sent to Advisors so it can be able to decentralize the artificial intelligence functions.
The advisors node is the block that’s responsible for creating nodes. Advisors is expected to notify the network that there’s adequate GPU power. The network will then make it selection based on some criteria such as time, coin holdings and so on.
Finally, the selection is successful, it will make it possible for them to operate the neural network and generate reward directly from the network. This will in turn help in teaching and decentralizing the artificial intelligence aspect of the network operation.
