If you didn't know already, Dash's upcoming Evolution will be seriously cool.
Due to arrive in 2017, Dash Evolution will revolutionize the crypto experience. Through the use of a powerful Decentralized Application Programming Interface (DAPI), clients and merchants will be able to access their accounts wherever there is an Internet connection.
Dash's DashDrive, which will be the combined memory of all Masternodes in the second tier, will house all information in the cloud. Info will be safe because it will be sharded, and distributed across the entire network.
Users of Evolution will enjoy the features of privacy, instant confirmation, and accessibility anywhere through DAPI's powerful engine. It will be a quantum leap in crypto usability, leading to the possibility of onboarding the average person to the platform.

OK, but what will it look like?
At a recent meetup in Warsaw, Dash Project Manager Robert Wiecko unveiled a sneak peek at the DashPay Wallet, which will be the user interface (UI) unlocking all of Evolution's powerful features. A web wallet based on login, it will allow you to have easy access to your funds wherever you are, and it is immune to censorship from operating system scrutiny.

Is this competing with maidsafe?
No, Dash is not a direct competitor to Maidsafe. We have our sights set on BTC and PayPal. Dash's DashDrive will only be used for client account data, not for commercial storage.

How many masternodes will there be in the long run. Will there be hundreds of thousands? The monero guys see masternodes as a weakness but if there are lots of them.....
The max Masternode count would be coin supply divided by 1000. However, this is an extremely unlikely scenario because as you approach the limit, the cost per Dash would become prohibitively expensive. Dash's nodes are decentralized, they are not a point of failure. Taking out a node in one location would simply result in another being established elsewhere.
What if Us and allies shut down 50 percent of them if they didn't support some government initiative. I would think you need 20-50k nodes to prevent this from being an issue but that would require too many coins. Maybe the masternodes coin commitment needs to come down.

I wonder if anyone is working on a time locked multisig masternode? That way the average user can use a pool that is guaranteed to send the dash back. 1000 dash is not easy to raise for many people like myself
I wonder if that has anything to do with the interest bearing accounts.
