Many cryptocurrencies are up in high percentages today.
AMP price movement could also be caused by the WildSpark pump. It will go down very soon.

I have just been looking for AMP/BTC price in HitBTC. Look at the volume (for a daily chart):
Yesterday -August 9th- had a big volume, compared with previous days. It wa also yesterday that open beta was announced, if I am not mistaken. However market rejected higher prices.
Today's volume is about 0.68 BTC. Not too much. Maybe that changes for the rest of the day. I am in Europe, so in USA there are still plenty of time to trade.
And for a larger context, here is the weekly chart. Volume for this week is quite similar to the previous ones:
When volume is low it means that only people having small amounts of BTC are trading. Movements then are weak and tend to reverse quickly.
