In todays modern world we rely heavily on location data and location technologies. We use digital maps, GPS navigation, track important packages, vehicles and much more. All that data is provided through GPS. We have been using GPS and relying solely on it for a several decades now. It is very accurate and easy to integrate, but it does have some flaws. GPS is easy to jam, spoof and is exceptionally susceptible to cyber attacks. In a world where we have self-driving cars that use GPS to get us to a correct location, and services that depend heavily on GPS you can start to see how me might have a potential problem.
Luckily, a very talented team behind XYO Network has developed a new system that will bring location services into a new age. They developed an ecosystem of crypto-location protocols and components. This system is built using blockchain technologies and with it they want to solve all problems that GPS inherently has. The XYO Network has four primary components, Sentinels (The Data Gatherers), Bridges (The Data Relayers), Archivists (The Data Storers), and Diviners (The Answer Aggregators). The whole system works like this:
“Sentinels gather location information via sensors, radios, and other means. Bridges take this data from Sentinels and provide them to Archivists. Archivists store this information for Diviners to analyse. Diviners analyse location heuristics from Archivists in order to generate answers to queries and assign accuracy scores to them. Diviners then relay these answers back into a smart contract”

Proof of Origin is the key to verifying that ledgers flowing into the XYO Network are valid. A unique ID for source of data is not practical since it can be spoofed.
The components along the Proof of Origin Chain get paid for their involvement
in fetching the answer to the query. Sentinels, Bridges, Archivists, and Diviners
are all rewarded for their work.
There are many potential use cases for this kind of technologies. Car rental, drone delivery services, airport luggage logistics, insurance agencies and many more will hugely benefit from this technology.
It is also worth mentioning that this is the first ICO that will have its application outside of digital world, and will be usable in real world. The team is also very experienced in location data and services having built several products based on location data, like the one you can stick to anything and find it through a phone, but it can also ring a phone in case you lost it. They have now taken all that knowledge and data and built a whole new platform!
