Cryptocurrency over SMS with Dash Text
Dash Text is a technology that allows people to use the cryptocurrency Dash without even having a smartphone.
There are millions of people who live in countries with failing currencies, such as Venezuela. Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Dash could help people move their money away from the failing bolívar, but about 60% of Venezuelans don't have access to smartphones. Dash Text is solving this problem through a service that lets Venezuelans use a crypto wallet through SMS.
According to DiscoverDash.com, there are already more than 1600 merchants accepting Dash in Venezuela. Could this enable people to withdraw their power from a failing state currency, and regain control over their economy? Or is it just Internet nerd money?
