To be honest I think it gives more people exposure to bitcoin but not much else. It doesn't necessarily mean that people will invest just because they now know about it although it adds more to the pool of potential investors. I heard about bitcoin in 2012 but didn't invest until many years after. I think it all comes with time but now that the futures market is coming along with more media attention, that will drive up interest in investing.
