Bitcoin hits new high
The creation of the new virtual currency called Bitcoin Cash has caused bitcoin to hit new high during this recent split.
Bitcoin price jumped over 15% since Friday and is actually hovering around $ 3400 per token, according to Coin Market Cap, a cryptopcurrency market cap and price checker with portfolio tracker.
The market capitalization has been booster to over 53 billion with this price surge of bitcoin.
Last Monday bitcoin was divided into two virtual currencies. The solution dubbed SegWit2x has been debated for a long while in the bitcoin community, as developers wanted to retain the original blockchain that protects the cryptocurrency from hackers, while miners preferred to double the size of data blocks to make the network faster.
Bitcoin Cash is currently trading around $270 per token with the market capitalization floating around $4.4 billion, according to Coin Market Cap.
