After The Blockchain Hoopla Ends....

in #crypto-currency6 years ago (edited)

Most of the world just discovered blockchain and they think it is fabulous, but where will it go?

Right now due to everything "blockchain" having a token, we call them all "Crypto-Currency, just as at one time companies that have a website were "Dot-coms".   Currently though having a website is just part of having a business.  In all likelihood in the future many companies will have a Blockchain - if there is a business case for it.

Due to the newness of the emerging technology of "Blockchain", it has created this interesting market of "Crypto" products.  We spend time comparing Steem to PowerLedger - POWR, which makes no sense.  One is a social media product with a currency attached.  The other is a company with a vision on how to buy/sell and trade various forms of "Energy".  It makes very little sense to compare them, except that they both issue tokens.

I believe we are at a point where businesses will buy or recreate the best ideas and integrate them into their current models.  We are already seeing the beginning of that with Mark Zuckerburg talking about adding a crypto to Facebook.

What does that mean for SteemIt and POWR?  Long-term it depends on how fast businesses integrate the power of the blockchain.

Right now we have an amazing opportunity, but don't think it is going to stay in the current confines as it grows.

Random Cryptic Thoughts.

If you haven't checked out the best minnow on SteemIt, she is @brandyb and she is fabulous!

Even the companies that won't have their own blockchain or token will all use the blockchain extensively, be it for transactions, supply chain or logistic solutions.

I'm trying to identify the Googles, Amazons & Intels of the crypto-space but that is just so incredibly hard. What's your perspective?

I'm looking for them also, but remember that Netscape and Windows came first! What we are looking for in a currency is a "User Interface" type product that dumbs this down for the end user. I haven't seen it yet, and it will likely come in the form of a Wallet. That is my perspective.

Who is going to make this mainstream easy...? That is what we need to find.

Just took me back to when I used to work for CompuServe! Lol

that compuserve life thou! wow, let's talk modems. ha! man, feels like a lifetime!

hahaha IKR.... I am only 35 so it really was not THAT long ago!

For sure, we are still in the infancy stage here. All you need to do is use the phrase "blockchain" in your white paper about 10 times, and people throw millions at you without really knowing WHY that's a good idea.

I think SMTs might be an interesting "gateway" to show people the more functional aspects of what you can actually USE blockchain tech for. And-- in due course-- maybe some of these tokens will become more like actual currency you can use to pay for stuff, rather than just highflyer investments.

Interesting times, for sure-- good time to pop some popcorn an watch.

I think a new development that will be left in the blockchain wake is MaaS.
Money as a Service.

Most of the rest of the projects will end up gone or within their own specialized industries. IMO

Absolutely. When we can use them as currencies more easily, everything will change again.

Ha ha, I think Netscape was later... To me, it seems like we're late in this phase:

I actually e-mailed Marc Andreessen once when I was an early-career programmer and having trouble getting NCSA Mosaic to compile. I never heard back from him, but I did eventually get it to compile... ; -)

Remember when it was an optional $75 product and there wasn't a Microsoft Version yet?

Yep, and you also had to shell out another $40 or $50 for 3rd party software and muck around in autoexec.bat and config.ini just to get the stupid machine connected to the network.

Will this help Steemit grow through its SMT feature?

Steemit can't be compared with POWR. Two different tokens.

@brandyb is growing with every blink of eye. Keep growing brandyb. :)

Steem On @whatsup.

@whatsup blockchain is the future , Will Make Our Life Better & Easier , There will be several wonderful projects in the future

@whatsup,
Actually this is a good topic to discuss! Specially with technological changes world is immigrating new concepts, now blockchain and it also have few generations so far, and I hope next next couple of years of time they will find another technology! Likewise we all should adopt to those technologies! Adoption is the key of success, that how I believe it!

Cheers~

Blockchain now will be included in all our life activity its the new way of thinking its a revolution!

A lot is unfolding gradually and only in the future will we be able to know what all this is about. It's mosaics that will become a beautiful image once we are able to step back a little from the canvass and view it. But the time for that is not now. I wait.

I already know crypto is the next big. I equally know it'll go far. New tech with massive adoption always succeed and with the way crypto and blockchain is going, they'll be new in ovations and ways to tweak crypto to solve different life and world problems in terms of finances, power sector, education etc.

Thanks for sharing this. I'm having a deep tought too.
