On the 1st of October 2023, we announced the sunsetting of the refund program and since this announcement was made, there has been a crazy rush to complete the process, users might have experienced slower support response time due to the sheer magnitude of support tickets they had to deal with. This decision wasn’t easy to make, but with the amount of money being spent on keeping the platform afloat(staff salaries, tech expenditures and related expenses) was eating deep into our reserves and we had to make the difficult decision to sunset the refund portal.
While the past few weeks has brought us immense satisfaction considering the amount of members we were able to onboard and refund, it has also come with it’s fair share of challenges and complaints from affected members who do not have the funds to complete the last crucial step in the refund process, after reviewing the requests for time extension, we have decided to extend the program until the end of the year…. Although there would be a few changes.
What To Expect
We absolutely cannot continue in this trajectory, we have almost exhausted the funds set aside for expenditures and with this was our greatest motivation to end the program, however instead of ending the program entirely, we would be downsizing and this means letting go of a huge chunk of our workforce, this might translate to slower support response time and any issues you encounter might take a longer time to be resolved.
We want to also assure you that the system is STILL fully automated so there would be no disruption in the refund process, KYC requests would still be reviewed within 24-48 hours, activation would still happen under 24 hours and most importantly, withdrawals would automatically be processed within 45 mins of submitting a withdrawal request.
