Former Visa CEO joins crypto-bank Crypterium

The start-up Crypterium is one of the first banks thinking cryptocurrency first . Crypterium focuses on the daily payments market and on credit.

According to the company, this application will provide virtual credit cards to its users, which will link them to Apple Pay, Samsung Payor Google Pay(formerly called Android Pay). It will allow them to pay on any NFC terminal, or scan QR codes.

The crypto bank will also lend in cryptocurrency, according to the white paper of Crypterium.

O'Brien held a position at Visa from 2008 to 2014 and was a consultant at Revolut a payment startup.

New CEO demonstrates enthusiasm for Crypterium

O'Brien said:

I'm excited to join Crypterium at such an exciting time. I firmly believe that cryptocurrency is about to become popular, and we are pioneers in turning Crypterium into a great company.

"Cryptocurrency currently faces a complex use as a daily payment method. If you had to convert your Bitcoin or Ether, it would probably take you 3 to 7 days for this money to be paid into a normal bank account. With Crypterium, this whole process is made transparent and gives the opportunity to a consumer to use his cryptocurrency to pay for everyday purchases, " he added. Business Insider NL reported this on May 19, 2018.

In April, the company announced it had raised more than $ 51 million during its Initial Coin Offering (ICO) by obtaining more than 72,000 buyers of Crypterium tokens (CRPT).

As for the volatile nature of the cryptocurrency market that was raised, O'Brien did not give any details about the so-called "secret sauce" of the company.
