Even if we had the technology to do so, it would still take many years of testing and preparation. I don't see it happening anytime soon.

I feel like this is the most optimistic answer for me. Before 2030 is pushing it - going to Mars is an expensive venture, I don't think technology is the thing holding us back.

I assume it will take at least a year to get there from takeoff. Then add a few more years for R&D to come up with travel plans.
