A lot has been said and written about the blockchain, the idea of having a decentralized and transparent online system that works for almost everything seems more like an utopia than real life.

However, new Social Media Platform Steemit is opening up new possibilities that were thought to be impossible only weeks ago. For example, you can now vote and crowdfund projects without spending a penny, in the same way you can raise funds for your project or business by posting your idea and receiving up-votes!

• Search for Crowdfund category or go to: https://steemit.com/recent/crowdfund
• Up-vote the projects you like

Raise funds for your project

• Create an account in steemit.com
• Click on “Submit a story”, write about your project and why do you need to raise funds. Make sure to select “crowdfund” as your post topic.
• Share your post with your friends online so that it can be voted-up.
• In exchange for the up-votes you will receive Steem Backed Dollars (SBD)which are blockchain tokens that are worth the same as US Dollars, to convert those tokens, go to your account and transfer your SBDs to an exchange, trade your SBD for Bitcoins which you can keep and use or sell them for your local currency.
