Croatia - a corrupt beauty waiting to be saved

in #croatia7 years ago (edited)

Where are we heading? That is a question I ask about my home country all the time.

In the past couple of years there has been an exodus of young educated minds in the search for better opportunities, equal rights and a brighter future. The numbers are in the hundreds of thousands. More and more of my friends are no more here, where they belong.

Natality rate in Croatia - 1,43 - we are dying out as a people.

The reason behind this? You guessed it, Croatian politics.

The currently actual affair involves "Agrokor" the biggest food/agriculture corporation on the Balkans. The problem is that everybody else having a power position is involved too. They all got rich trough "Agrokor" starting after the end of the independence war 1991.

How can we put anybody behind bars if everybody who should do that is involved in the affair in one or the other way?

Currently what is going on is that Ivica Todorić, the mastermind behind "Agrokor" went to London. He basically run away.

Now we are being presented by a false hunt for him and the people responsible for the huge losses made by "Agrokor". But we all know how this will end, nobody will end in jail for the millions upon millions stolen. All that while they close a small restaurant for having more money than they should in their register, making them pay tens of thousands of HRK for fines, making them go out of business.

Hope still remains, younger generations can bring a change. I will do my best to contribute to the path of prosperity.

Stay tuned if you want to know more, like and subscribe

Cheers, thank you all for your time and have a nice day :)
