The religions component of CRT.
I think the thing that people are glossing over in the discussion on critical race theory is that there's one component that either includes or excludes you from being a proponent. No, it's not accurate teaching of history. No, it's not acknowledgement that past injustices still have lingering consequences.
CRT needs you to believe that slavery and Jim Crow and segregation were all natural products of the Western tradition and the liberal worldview.
If you believe that those blemishes on our history were savagely hypocritical to the foundational values of the Western tradition and liberal values, you're immediately not a critical race theorist. The critical race theorists would kick you out of the room for suggesting such a thing.
That's a component of why CRT is a religion.
