I think it would be unwise to think of any cryptocurrency as private. Since it's on a blockchain, organizations like CRA/IRS have all the time in the world to perfect their crawlers on the various chains.

It gets even easier for these institutions if the individual uses an exchange that's registered with FINTrack or other financial institutions. For example, whenever they convert from Epic to Bitcoin in order to convert to fiat.
