Robbery in Berkeley

On Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 6:03 p.m. a robbery via threats of a gun occurred in the Recreational Sports Facility (RSF). The male suspect entered the facility and prowled the building stealing cell phones and wallets from several victims. Upon being confronted by an RSF employee, the suspect stated he had a gun. Fearing for her safety, the employee decided not to do anything hasty. The suspect was last seen heading westbound on Bancroft Way after fleeing the RSF. UCPD searched the vicinity but could not locate the suspect.

The suspect was described as:

An African-American male, middle aged, wearing a navy cap with a red brim, a blue plaid flannel shirt over a white t-shirt, white tennis shoes and possibly wearing dark jeans.
